It all started as a vision between Ealgie Gilbert and Arther Fulson, being led to have a gospel meeting to be held in the Dixie Community. Though they did not have a building, they persevered forward and held a gospel meeting in August 1961 in a tent within the Dixie Community. That meeting led 18 people to Christ to be baptized and this was the beginning of a new ministry. Central Rock Church has previously been led by Thaddaus Propps, Thomas Hartaway, Willie Ray Hill, and our successor, Christopher Fifer.
Central Rock Church was renamed from the Airport Church of Christ, AKA “The Purple Church” that previously resided in Sherwood, AR in 2016 until 2023 when our permanent home was acquired. Central Rock Church is moving to higher grounds as becoming a One-of-a-Kind church, seeking to simply bring people to Jesus.
